Patriots sign Rairdon and Hutchins

The signed two more members of their 2026 rookie class, third-round tight end Eli Raridon and seventh-round linebacker Quintayvious Hutchins.

Raridon, a big target out of Notre Dame, arrived in Foxborough as the 80th overall selection. At 6-foot-7 and nearly 250 pounds, he represents a significant investment in the offensive skill group. While his collegiate career in South Bend was occasionally hampered by injury, his ceiling as a dual-threat tight end is what clearly enamored the scouting department. He possesses the rare combination of length to dominate in the red zone and the athletic fluidity to threaten the seam. In an offense that has historically valued versatile tight ends who can both move the chains and provide high-level blocking in the run game, Raridon serves as a prototypical developmental piece with immediate rotational potential.

On the defensive side, the signing of Quintayvious “Q” Hutchins was selected 247th overall, Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 245 pounds, Hutchins offers the positional flexibility that the Patriots’ coaching staff looks for in their linebacking corps. His experience transitioning between defensive end and tight end earlier in his college career speaks to his functional athleticism, while his 2024 breakout season—which featured 3.5 sacks and multiple forced turnovers—highlights a knack for making impactful plays in space.

Both players face the standard uphill climb of a rookie transition, but their physical profiles and high football IQ suggest they are well-positioned to compete for roles when training camp kicks off this summer.
