2016 NFL Draft: The Browns Need to Do the Right Thing and Draft Carson Wentz Over Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch.

The Browns need to do the right thing and draft Carson Wentz with the second overall pick.

By all accounts, Cal quarterback Jared Goff had a terrific workout yesterday at Cal’s pro day. He impressed scouts with all of the different throws he completed during the work out and he moved well in and out of the pocket. Several teams spent time with Goff yesterday including the Browns who reportedly spent “extra time” with him.

I can understand the Browns spending extra time with Goff. They have to do their “due delligence” with all of the available first round quarterback prospects. They need to figure out which one they want to draft with the second overall pick. Let me save the Browns brain trust some time. The answer is simple. Carson Wentz.

Wentz is the ideal fit for Hue Jackson’s diverse multiple offense. He’s a big, strong pocket passer who can hang in, make his read and deliver the football on time. He has a quick release and can locate the deep ball and drop it in the bucket. Wentz is athletic and can be used as a runner. As we saw with the Bengals, Jackson loves to his run his quarterback. He did it with Andy Dalton and Dalton isn’t as athletic as Wentz.

For the Browns it’s an easy decision in my opinion. Spare me the football sabermetrics bullshit. Wentz is the best quarterback in this draft. Forget about the numbers. He’s the guy. Sure, maybe Goff and Paxton Lynch might have a higher ceiling and they might end up the better quarterbacks down the road, but I don’t think they can play right away. Wentz can.

If Jackson listens to Sashi “Don’t Call Me Kashi” Brown and that former Billy Beane baseball stoolie Paul DePodesta, he’s a moron! My aunts in Greece know more football than those two clowns. Do the right thing Hue!  Draft Carson Wentz. Give Browns fans hope!
