2016 NFL Draft: AFC East Team Needs.

AFC-East-Salute-1000x600

Buffalo Bills: QB, DT, WR, S
Needs Breakdown: The Bills need to solve their quarterback problem long term. I know they believe in Tyrod Taylor but they need to find a long term solution at some point in this draft. Defensive tackle is truly their primary need. This year’s defensive tackle draft class is loaded so the Bills should be able to draft a quality player with pick number 19. The Bills need an impact wide receiver who can start opposite Sammy Watkins. Robert Woods is not the answer. look for them to take a receiver early on. The Bills secondary also needs to be re-tooled. Look for the Bills to draft a corner and a safety in this draft at some point.

Miami Dolphins: RB, CB, G, DT
Needs Breakdown: After losing Lamar Miller in free agency, the Dolphins need a starting running back. They do have Jay Ajayi on the roster but he is injury prone. The Dolphins released Brent Grimes so they are also in the market for a starting cornerback. Miami could go in that direction at pick number 13. The interior of the offensive line needs to be addressed as well. GM Chris Greer could go guard or defensive tackle early. The Dolphins need to become a more physical team so don’t be surprised if they go big in this draft.

New England Patriots: CB, OT, DT, RB
Needs Breakdown: The Patriots don’t have a first round pick. Instead, they have two picks in the second and two picks in the third round. They should just let the board come to them. Unless there is a player there that Bill Belichick really likes, there is no need for the Patriots to move. Its all about adding quality players that fit the team’s schemes and could provide depth. The Patriots need to draft one or two corners in this draft. They don’t have any depth at that position and with Logan Ryan an unrestricted free agent next off-season and Malcolm Butler a restricted free agent, they need to fortify the position. If nothing else, they need to improve their sub packages. The Patriots need to draft a swing offensive tackle in this draft that can eventually develop into a left tackle. With the departures of Sealver Siliga and Dominique Easley, the Patriots need to add a defensive tackle in this draft as well. I know Patriots fans are yearning for a running back but I would be surprised if Belichick drafted one before day three.

New York Jets: QB, CB, OT, OLB
Needs Breakdown: The Jets need to figure out the Ryan Fitzpatrick situation. I still think he’ll re-sign but he’ll make the team sweat a little. The Jets have Geno Smith and Bryce Petty in the fold but don’t be surprised if they quarterback at pick 20. Paxton Lynch perhaps? With De’Brickshaw Ferguson retiring, the Jets traded for Ryan Clady but he’s injury prone. It wouldn’t surprised me if the Jets took an offensive tackle early. Drafting a nickel corner and a starting outside linebacker are also priorities for New York in this draft. With Buster Skrine starting now, the Jets need to find a nickel corner. They also need to replace Damorrio Davis who left in free agency. The Jets have multiple needs but GM Mike Macagnan does a good job of drafting for need so the Jets will fill many of them this weekend.
