Former Lawrence Academy and Boston College guard Finn Dirstine has committed to Texas A&M. Dirstine will be joining former Eagles teammate Josh DeBerry who transferred to the school earlier this off-season and former Eagles coach Steve Addazio who is the Aggies offensive line coach.

Dirstine entered the portal in March. Dirstine took an unofficial visit to UMass the same day we were there for spring football on April 1st. At the time we thought UMass might have a good shot at landing him because he could play right away.
The Aggies return all five starters upfront on offense so there is no guarantee that Dirstine will play, at least not right away. Ultimately, Dirstine put his faith in his former coach to help him get back on track and to have a chance to play at the next level.
The Acton, Massachusetts native also held offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Ball State, UAB, Kent State, Old Dominion, Texas State, Jacksonville State and Western Kentucky. The former four star recruit originally committed to Boston College in 2017. He played in 14 games for the Eagles.
Dirstine has one year of eligibility left so he hopes to make the most it with a familiar voice guiding him in Addazio. The Aggies return guards Kam Dewberry and Layden Robinson. Despite that, the A&M line was ravaged by injuries last season so Dirstine provides quality depth.
Dirstine took official visits to UAB and Appalachian State along with the aforementioned unofficial trip to UMass. Ultimately, he decided on Texas A&M.
