North Kingstown tabs longtime assistant Dave Giorgi as head coach

North Kingstown has hired longtime assistant coach Dave Giorgi as the program’s new head football coach. Giorgi takes over for Fran Dempsey who stepped down for family reasons after the season.

Giorgi is an NK grad who grew up watching the program and was a three-year starter at quarterback for the Skippers.

Giorgi was hired as part of former Skippers coach Joe Gilmartin’s staff. A staff that was responsible for turning the program around and restoring the championship success of the past.

Now Giorgi is tasked with keeping the program competitive playing against some of the best competition in the state including Bishop Hendricken and LaSalle.

North Kingstown graduated a talented senior class most notably quarterback Eddie Buehler. The Skippers however have a lot of young talent coming up so the future is bright for the program.

Now Giorgi gets to lead his alma mater and coach all of the young talent in the program.
