Harvard Four Down Preview: Harvard Crimson (4-2) at Dartmouth Big Green (2-4)

Kickoff: Harvard and Dartmouth renew their rivalry today in Hanover, N.H. Both schools were picked as pre-season favorites to win the Ivy League but it hasn’t panned out as expected thus far. Despite that, this is a legitimate rivalry game so expect a physical, back and forth affair. Dartmouth has won the last three meetings.

Four Downs

1st Down: Move on from last week: The Crimson need to move past last week’s 37-10 loss to Princeton. There is still plenty to play for this season. A win today would go a long way in helping this team’s psyche.

2nd Down: Get Borguet going early: Harvard needs to get back to their roots and pound the football. Get your best player the ball. Get running back Aidan Borguet the ball early and often. He needs to be the focal point of the offense today.

3rd Down: Account for Howard: Dartmouth quarterback Nick Howard is one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in FCS. He is a physical, down hill runner. The Crimson front seven must be gap sound and take good run fits if they want yo slow him down. Gang tackling is a must today.

4th Down: Offensive line must rebound: The offensive line needs to play better today. They really struggled last week. They need to give quarterback Charlie Dean more time.

Extra Point: Harvard and Dartmouth are meeting for the 125th time today. It is a historic match up. The Crimson lead the all time series 71-48-5.

Final Drive: Expect another tight game. I like Harvard in a close one.
