High School: Dudes of the Week

It was another great weekend of high school football action in Massachusetts and New England. Several players in the region stood out for their performances. Here are some of the players that had great performances and led their team. DUDE!

Milton quarterback Owen McHugh had a night to remember in the Wildcats 42-6 win over Holliston. He went 7-11 for 215 yards and threw four touchdown passes. He also scored a rushing touchdown. DUDE!

North Quincy WR/CB Nate Sampson had a game to remember. He caught a 35 yard touchdown pass, returned a fumble 68 yards for a touchdown and he had a 42 yard interception return for the Red Raiders. DUDE!

Dexter Southfield’s Darius Day scored on a reception, an interception and a punt return. He did all of this in the first half in a 56-14 win over Austin Prep. DUDE!

Brockton’s Cam Monteiro scored three touchdowns and had 254 scrimmage yards in a 42-35 OT win for Brockton over Lincoln-Sudbury. DUDE!

The dynamic Braintree backfield of Michael Tellier and Mario Franciosa-Johnson had quite the day versus Framingham. Tellier completed 11 of 13 passes for 264 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Franciosa-Johnson had seven catches for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Wamps 50-21 win over Framingham. DUDE!

Waltham’s Ty Connolly had 115 yards receiving, a touchdown reception and two rushing touchdowns in the Hawks 37-7 win over Newton South. DUDE!

Bridgewater-Raynham junior Dawson DuBose rushed for 190 on 35 carries to lead the Trojans to a 26-10 win over Barnstable. DUDE!

Bishop Feehan’s Connor McHale caught 5 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. He also had 6 tackles and an interception in a 12-10 loss to St. Mary’s.

Plymouth South’s Casious Johnson rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers 21-14 win over Foxborough. DUDE!

Hanover junior quarterback Ben Scalzi had a great day at the office in a 51-14 win over Stoughton. He threw for 300 yards and tossed three touchdown passes and had a rushing touchdown as well. DUDE!

Burlington running back Joe Poland rushed for 255 yards and four touchdowns in the Red Devils 28-27 win over Cambridge. DUDE!

Rockland’s Jacob Coulstring had rushing touchdowns of 50, 39 and 34 yards in the Bulldogs 25-20 win over Whitman-Hanson. DUDE!

Isaiah Osgood of Arlington Catholic scored six touchdowns (three passing and three rushing) in a 40-6 victory over Archbishop Williams. DUDE!

Stoneham’s Jason Nutting Jr. threw a touchdown pass and had two more on the ground in the Spartans 46-12 win over DY. DUDE!

Carver junior quarterback Tyler Lennox completed 13-19 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball seven times for 73 yards and two touchdowns. DUDE!

West Bridgewater’s James Harris scored four touchdowns on eight carries on the Wildcats win over Nantucket. DUDE!

Ty Ciongoli of St. Sebastian’s had quite the debut throwing for 350 yards and 4 touchdown passes in a 34-21 win over Governor’s Academy. DUDE!

Millis running back Nick Almeida rushed for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Mohawks beat Roxbury Prep 30-8. DUDE!
