UMass: Minutemen keep rolling with a commitment from EDGE Donovan Dyson out of Maryland

UMass continues to rack up the 2023 commitments. Don Brown and his staff picked up a commitment from Donovan Dyson out of Baltimore, Maryland yesterday.

Dyson plays EDGE. At 6-2 220, he is tightly packed and has good pop on the snap. He can play along the line of scrimmage and he makes a ton of backside pursuit plays. His versatility will make him a good fit in Brown’s defense.

UMass once again beat out some stiff competition for a player’s commitment. Dyson held offers from Boston College, Maryland, Temple, UNH, URI, Merrimack and Liberty. He had 12 total offers.

The Minutemen now have seven commitments in the Class of 2023. They have picked up three commitments in the past week after adding defensive back Tristen Sion and wide receiver Rico Watkins last week.

UMass will focus more on high school players in recruiting moving forward but if a player who fits what they are looking for ends up in the portal after this season, they will not hesitate to pursue them.
