It was another great weekend of high school football action in Massachusetts. So without further ado, here are our dudes for Week 5.
Scituate senior quarterback Henry Gates completed 16/25 for 333 yards and 3 touchdown passes. He also had a rushing touchdown in the Sailors win over North Quincy.
Scituate senior wide receiver James Cannon caught 7 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown in the win over North Quincy.
St. John’s Prep wide receiver Jessie Ofurie caught six passes for 219 and 4 touchdowns in the Prep’s win over Malden Catholic.
Central Catholic’s Ayden Pereira completed 11 of 17 passes for 299 yards and 3 touchdown passes. Pereira also rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown as The Raiders defeated Lowell, 41-0.
Reading’s Colby Goodchild ran for 156 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Rockets remained undefeated with a 26-17 win over the Tanners of Woburn.
Jake Adelmann rushed for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also picked off a pass in Natick’s 42-21 win over Wellesley.
Plymouth South’s Casious Johnson rushed for 292 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 14 carries as the Panthers beat Pembroke, 28-8.
The dynamic duo of Bryan Metayer and Subodh Dhakal rushed for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns in Norwood’s 38-16 win over Hopkinton.
JC Petrongolo was efficient completing 9 of 14 passes for 174 yards and 4 touchdown passes as Catholic Memorial cruised past St. John’s (Shrewsbury), 44-0.
BB&N quarterback Shane Hanifan completed 13 of 18 passes for 201 yards and 2 touchdown passes in the Knights win over Thayer.
Foxboro workhorse running back Dylan Gordon rushed for 239 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Warriors 49-13 win over Stoughton. Gordon was named our player of the week. He has 19 rushing touchdowns on the season.
Tewksbury’s Michael Sullivan picked off two passes against Billerica in a 12-10 win. It is for the second straight week Sullivan has intercepted two passes.
Sophomore Damien Carter caught a 40 yard touchdown pass and scored the game winning touchdown in overtime as Milford edged Mansfield 27-24.
Calvin Polchlopek caught four passes for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns as Bellingham beat Dover-Sherborn 35-24. It was the first loss of the season for DS.
Brooks quarterback Michael Wolfendale completed 28 of 45 passes for 420 yards and 2 touchdown passes in a record setting performance.
Grafton quarterback Tyler Dimond rushed for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns on 19 carries. Dimond also threw for 141 yards and a touchdown in Grafton’s overtime win over Northbridge.
Cambridge’s Dante Christie had 300 all-purpose yards and scored 5 touchdowns in Cambridge 46-30 win over Waltham.
Week in and week out, David Brown does something special. This week he rushed for 2 touchdowns and caught 2 touchdown passes in St. Mary’s 35-12 win over Bishop Stang.
Dedham’s Jack Millea intercepted three passes and racked up 11 tackles in Dedham’s 13-7 win over Millis.
Tariq Thomas rushed for over 200 yards and had 4 rushing touchdowns in Springfield Central’s 20-6 win over Westfield.
