High School: Week 5 Massachusetts Top 25 Poll

Not a ton of movement in the top 10, and a few games in Central and Western Mass. caused some movement. This should be another fun week coming up as top-ranked Catholic Memorial takes on St. John’s Prep.

On to the rankings . . .

Week 5 Top 25

1. Catholic Memorial (4-0) — Bring on the Prep!

2. Everett (4-0) — Should stay perfect until the playoffs.

3. St. John’s Prep (5-0) — Bring on CM!

4. Xaverian (4-1) — Rounding into form.

5. Central Catholic (4-1) — Points allowed first two games: 101. Last three: 7.

6. Springfield Central (3-2) — Tough win over Westfield.

7. Lincoln-Sudbury (4-0) — Another team that should be perfect until the postseason.

8. Reading (5-0) — Knows how to win the close ones.

9. Milford (5-0) — Massive win over Mansfield.

10. Franklin (5-0) — Bye week coming.

11. Marblehead (5-0) — Took a big shot from Masco and survived.

12. Barnstable (4-1) — No problems with New Bedford.

13. Duxbury (3-1) — Looked terrific in beating Plymouth North.

14. Marshfield (4-1) — Rams playing at a high level right now.

15. Natick (4-1) — Disciplined and balanced against Wellesley.

16. Mansfield (3-2) — Hornets are not finished by any stretch.

17. Grafton (5-0) — Another nice win, this time over Northbridge.

18. Scituate (4-1) — This team is clicking.

19. Wachusett (4-1) — Has looked better each week.

20. Foxboro (4-1) — Simply explosive.

21. King Philip (4-1) — Milford and Mansfield the next two weeks.

22. St. Mary’s (5-0) — Rolling right now.

23. Milton (4-1) — Solid in all phases.

24. Minnechaug (4-1) — Big one with Westfield next.

25. Tewksbury (4-1) — Has really bounced back after Danvers loss.
